About this recording
This is the plain-language edition of the book, the version written in everyday words. It is read by a computer voice from a script prepared for listening, so the tables and diagrams of the printed book are described in words rather than skipped, and web addresses and symbols are left out. The same text is on the site and free to download as a PDF or an e-book if you would rather read it, or read along.
The deep version of each chapter, in the author’s original voice with the physics and the Raja Yoga terms in full, is not in this recording. It is free to read on each chapter page.
How to listen
- Straight through, in one sitting or over a week. It is about the length of a film.
- One chapter at a time. Each is four to six minutes, which fits a walk or a commute.
- Alongside the practice. Chapter 10 describes the daily rhythm; the tracker is free with a sign-in.
